2018 SSA Talent ID Camp – Banff, AB

It’s that time again! – Team Sask. & Canada Winter Games talent ID Camp

The Saskatchewan Snowboard Association will be hosting an identification camp April 6 + 7 in Banff, AB. We would like to invite all snowboarders in the province who have interest in being part of Team Sask. Provincial Freestyle Snowboard Team, Sk Snowboard Development Team, the Riderz Establishment, Riderz Snowboard Clubs, or have their eye on representing Saskatchewan at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
Team Sask is the most comprehensive snowboarding program within the province, with a focus on freestyle training and competition in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba.

Highlights of the program include:

  • Can West Pass for Team Members (lift passes to all western Canadian resorts),
  • top level coaching from our Canada Snowboard Comp Dev trained Team Sask coaches,
  • 35-40 days on snow at local and mountain resorts,
  • competition entry fees,
  • use of our 33 x 50 ft training air bag,
  • summer dryland training,
  • sport psychology,
  • nutrition,
  • Team Sask trip accommodations.

The Riderz Establishment/ Sk Snowboard development team offers many of the same things but does not include a Can West Pass (lift tickets for training days are provided) and seasonal training is 25-30 days in the prairies and the mountains. Riderz snowboard clubs in Asessippi, Mission Ridge, Table Mountain, and Wapiti provide snowboard coaching in freestyle programs.

The ID camp is not a tryout, but a declaration by athletes that they have interest in these programs. It’s an evaluation by coaches and organizers as to the athletes potential fit within our programs.

The camp will begin at 9:30 am at Lake Louise or Sunshine (weather and snow condition dependant) on Friday April 6.

Start time on Saturday will be relayed to athletes at the close of Friday’s session. Riding will be with coaches until 3:30 each day but all athletes are encouraged to ride until the resort closes.

If you have interest in being part of this camp contact us at [email protected] or [email protected].
