About Riderz

Riderz Snowboard Clubs are SSA sanctioned clubs operating out of our Saskatchewan snow resorts. Riderz began in 2002 out of Table Mountain, North Battleford and has slowly expanded across the province to include every major resort. The club has strived to provide early development, intermediate snowboard instruction, and individual competitive freestyle coaching as well as supporting the snowboarding culture in Saskatchewan. The club operates on most weekends during the winter season.

Riderz offers programs that accomodates all levels of riders interested in freestyle snowboarding, from entry level to advanced competition. Please view our programs listed below.

Riderz Snowboard Club: Riderz Program

The Riderz Program is focused on skills development for intermediate riders ages 10 and up. Participants will work with their coach and teammates to improve their riding and learn intermediate to expert level freestyle skills. The program runs on weekends with the developmental “Youngbloods” group going on the Saturday and Riderz freestyle on Sundsy.

Session Times: On Snow sessions run from the beginning of December until the end of the snow season (usually middle to end of March). “Youngbloods” training will be on Saturdays for 2 hours beginning at either 10:00 or1:00 pm with the Riderz clubs meeting on Sunday with instruction from 10:00- 12:00 and again from 1:00- 3:00.

Riderz is designed to promote fun and progression in all aspects of snowboarding in a team oriented friendly environment. All athletes in our programs get to explore the risk and limits of snowboarding in a safe managed environment with a professionally certified and experienced coaches.The program instills basic ethics of snowboarding, while promoting team bonding and learning. There is no specific specialization into a snowboard discipline; all aspects of snowboarding and snowboard competition will be focused on. The riders will be encouraged to register in local rail and jump events that are suitable to their abilities throughout the season.

Program fee: Fees for the Riderz programs range from $200 to $1450 depending on which program fits you best. Check out our registration page for more details on the specific programs, what they offer, and how they can help you with your snowboarding pursuits.

Program Requirements:

  • Table Mt. Lift tickets or Season Pass
  • Saskatchewan Snowboard Association competitive membership
  • Helmet (use of helmet is a mandatory for all programs)

Additional costs you may incur include: equipment, travel, entry fees, provincial membership, food and facility costs. We will do our best to share these additional costs ahead of time.

Riderz Coaching Staff

Riderz Snowboard Club is proud of our mature coaching staff that love to ride and coach! Our hiring process includes unanimous approval by the coaching and volunteer staff for each time we bring someone new on.All coaching staff are professionally trained and active members through the Canadian Snowboard Coaching program (CSCP) and the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). All Riderz coaches recognize the Canadian coaching code of ethics as the foundation for their programs.

Riderz Programs

Riderz “Youngbloodz”

Snowboarding instruction for children from the ages of 6-14. For the beginner and developing snowboarder, the focus is on overall riding ability with guidance in basic movement, balance, edge control, turning, and an introduction to the terrain park. Whether snowboarding for the first time or just wanting to get better, Youngbloods has something to offer all first timers and novice/ intermediate snowboarders. The club will follow the Canada Snowboard Riders program and will have 10 lesson dates followed by a “Boarderfest” wind up. The first day of lessons will be a full day starting at 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm. Coaches will assess boarders and put them into groups which will work off of a 2 hour lesson time. Regular lessons are 2 hours on Saturday from 10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm. Youngblood schedules will be sent out by the program coordinators as well as meeting places and any changes that may occur.

Riderz

Snowboarding instruction for athletes who have completed the Riderz “Youngboods” program or meets a coach assessed standard. This is an intermediate to advanced freestyle program for snowboarders looking to progress in groups of similar ability athletes. Snowboarders will continue to work on overall riding skills and competency as well as individual specialization in jumps, rails, and switch riding. Riderz is the program for snowboarders that are comfortable hitting park features and have the passion to learn more. Boarders in this division can also be a part of the Riderz Establishment/ SSA Development team and will have the opportunity to be selected to the SSA provincial team. Riderz will be a full day on every second Sunday, starting at 10 am with a lunch break and finishing between 3 and 4 pm. Riders schedules will be sent out by the program coordinators as well as meeting places and any changes that may occur.

Riderz Establishment/ SSA Development Team

Advanced riders who want to progress their skill in the area of competitive freestyle snowboarding should consider the Riderz Establishment. The team spends time travelling to different locations, getting to train on Alberta and British Columbia mountains, as well as have organized trips to provincial resorts and competitions This travelling team also known as the SSA development team will have 3 scheduled trips to the mountains, each for 3 days, as well as 3 2 day trips to competitions within Saskatchewan. All accommodations, coaching, competition entries, and lift tickets are included. Athletes who participate in the Riderz Establishment will also train with SSA provincial team members and coaches and will have the opportunity to selected to Team Sask. All athletes who also sign up for Riderz program at their local resort to train with their club and coaches will receive a $200 discount off of the second program registration. Establishment schedule will be sent out by the program coordinator as well as meeting places and any changes that may occur.
