SK SBD Provincials

Saskatchewan Snowboard along with Table Mountain Regional Park Resort is hosting the 2020 Freestyle provincial Championships.  This Slopestyle competition is a World Snowboard Points List event and contributes to your WSPL rankings.  Athletes will have a chance to show off their freestyle skills in the slopestyle competition but we will also be hosting a series of mini competitions throughout the day with prizes for the winners.  Registration is $30 for all Canada Snowboard members or $50 without a membership.  Registration will be on site in the day lodge at Table Mountain beginning at 8:30.  Come hang with your friends and […]

Ain’t no Party like a Snowboard Party

The first of a series of grassroots snowboard events brought to you by Sask Snowboard will be Jan 19 at Asessippi. The day will include subsidized snowboard lessons, rentals, and lift tickets as well as some fun events for all to enter. There will be a high ollie contest, a speed carve limbo, and an event everyone can get down with, the SK Snowboard “Gold Standard” tricks for cash rail jam. 3rd Annual Battle of the Boarder heats things up between MB and SK

The talking has began as the Battle of the Boarder is set for Asessippi Ski Area and Resort on Jan 18 2020. This Slopestyle competition will once again pit some of the best freestyle riders from Manitoba and Saskatchewan against one another in a competition for individual prowess and provincial supremecy. This 3rd instalment will break the tie as Manitoba won in 2018 and Saskatchewan ruled in 19. Registration will be onsite in the Asessippi day lodge beginning at 8:30 am with the competition scheduled to start at 11:00. Come represent your province in a fun day of snowboarding.

SK SBD Talent ID April 5-6

SK SBD is hosting its 2019/20 Team talent ID camp on April 5 and 6 in Banff/ Lake Louise. Athletes that would like to be part of next season’s program riding either with the provincial freestyle team or provincial freestyle development team should attend. Friday April 5 riders should meet at Sunshine Village at 10:00 at the gondola base outside creekside coffee shop. Sessions will go until 3:00 in the afternoon. The 2019 Provincial Championships will be held at Asessippi Ski Area and Resort on March 9. We are excited about a new course build that should ensure that every level of athletes should have the opportunity to show their skills and progression over the season. Age categories will be Male U11, U14, U17, 17+ and Female. The winners will be awarded “SK SBD Big Check” trophies and the $7500 in value can be converted into boarding bursaries to pursue their snowboarding in any SK SBD sanctioned program. Gold Standard Relocated to Asessippi Snow Resort

Friday afternoon will see an air competition that we are billing as the most fun and creative competition format ever. We are hosting a straight air, 180, 360, 540 competition but are also including instantaneous feedback for rad tricks in the form of cash money and prizes. Mission Ridge Host to Back to Back Provincial Series Events

Mission Ridge Winter Park will be host to Provincial Series Events 4 and 5. Saturday March 3 will be SK SBD Jib Fest. This rail only event showcase some of the premier snowboarding talent in the province with cash prizes totalling $2500. Big checks and cold hard cash to the winners. Jam Fest and Mazda Grom Series this weekend at Table Mountain

Due to weather postponement form the first weekend in Feb we will be going ahead with 2 events this weekend. Team Sask Competes in BC event at Big White

10 Saskatchewan riders made the trip out to Big White (Kelowna) B.C. to compete at the BC Snowboard Provincial Series events.  The 2 day slopestyle saw competitors from across western Canada and a couple from the United States.  This was their first opportunity to hit a “Big” jump line this season.  Our riders competed hard and had 5 great days of progression.  Although everyone had a great event congratulations to Tate Schiele for making finals on the first day with a top 5 qualification result and a trip best SK rider score of 85.25.  Great job to Angelina McCaffrey who […]

CA$H BA$H set for Little Red

The 3rd annual Cash Bash sponsored by SK Snowboard and Propaganda is set for Sunday Jan 20 at Kinsmen Ski Area (Little Red), Prince Albert.  This fun competition awards style and tricks with cold hard cash.  Our amazing “judges” and volounteers are ready with a fistful of $5 dollar bills that will be handed out to competitors when they do something to impress them.  It is for every level because they are just as stoked to see a first timer 50-50 a box as they are to see a seasoned veteran pull off a 450 out.  Things will get going […]

The Boarder has been Defended!

It was a great weekend at Asessippi.  64 snowboarders from across Manitoba and Saskatchewan came out to compete in the “Battle of the Boarder”  This Manitoba and Saskatchewan Provincial Series points event kicked the new year off in style with some amazing riding going down.  We were also stoked to see the largest group of female competitors of the season.  Saskatchewan pulled out the provincial head to head competition, claiming the Golden Board by a score of 327 to 203!.  Individual winners were as follows. “Battle of the Boarder” Pits SK vs. MB

The Sask Snowboard Provincial Series is packed this year with something happening all over the province.  We are hoping to see you at all of the major resorts this season.  Events are to be held at Asessippi, Wapiti, Little Red, Table Mountain, and Mission Ridge ranging from Chica’s Only Ride Camps, Slopestyle, Boardercross, and Big Air competitions, as well as our 35′ x 50′ freestyle training air bag.  Specific event updates and information will be continually updated on this page as well as through social media.  See you soon!
