Two programs (staff permitting) are offered seasonally for girls and women:
- Freestyle/All-Mountain Camps
- Girls Development Team
Freestyle/All-Mountain Camps: participants will spend the day working on fundamental skills that will help them progress on all areas of the hill or mountain. Currently offered as one day camps at various locations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, mornings are spent working on flat ground tricks, riding switch or spinning. After lunch we head straight to the terrain park to transfer skills to boxes, rails or jumps. Whether you are new to the park or are a rail aficionado, there’s something new to learn. All ages and abilities are welcome, however, participants must be able to comfortably carve on both edges and bring a positive ‘tude!
Development Team: The Development Team began in 2021/2022 and featured two local area camps (2 days each), and two mountain camps (3 days each) for a total of 10 days of riding. Athletes must be confident riding on both edges of their snowboard, willing to ride blue and black diamond runs and enter the terrain park. This team focuses on freestyle and all-mountain progression, taking advantage of new terrain and freestyle parks when in the mountains. Development Team athletes who have an interest in furthering their skills in a competition setting, on larger terrain park features, or progressing in bigger all-mountain terrain are highly encourage to try out for the Provincial Team.
